Sweeping Corporation of America is seeking a Day Diesel Mechanic in Wilmington, DE. This full-time role focuses on inspections, diagnostics and repairs of sweepers and related equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will work hands-on with hydraulic, electrical, and air systems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure fleet readiness. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: 2 years in shop with hydraulic, electrical and air systems; heavy equipment, waste/recycling preferred.
• License: Driver’s License.
• Tools: Provide and maintain basic hand and diagnostic tools.
• Age: 18 or older.
• Compliance: pass MVR, background check, DOT physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections of equipment and systems and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Carry out assembly, repair and preventive maintenance per specs to minimize downtime.
• Operate diagnostic tools to identify mechanical problems on sweepers and heavy equipment.
• Handle parts, lubricants and fluids and dispose of waste per regulations.
• Report issues and safety concerns promptly to management.
• Communicate maintenance needs and status to operators and team.
• Complete documentation and compliance forms for accountability.
• Adapt to repairs and work with team to improve reliability.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality per shift.
