Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America in Tampa, FL is seeking a Day Diesel Mechanic for the 1st shift. The role focuses on inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of diesel-powered sweepers, with a compensation range of $24–$30 per hour and minimal travel.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of shop experience working with hydraulic, electrical, and air systems, plus a valid driver’s license. DPOT, MVR, and other checks are required per company policy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years of hands-on shop experience with hydraulic, electrical, and air pressure systems, preferably in heavy equipment, waste, & recycling.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must provide and maintain basic hand and diagnostic tools.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass MVR, background check, DOT physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, electrical, and air systems on street sweepers.
• Keep fleet safe, reliable, and ready for service.
• Perform inspections and routine maintenance to ensure peak performance.
• Communicate issues and coordinate repairs with team and supervisors.
