Job summary

Key People is seeking a seasoned Controls Technician for day shift in the southwest suburban Atlanta area. You will design and integrate controls, assemble and program PLC panels, and help commission automated equipment.

Expect involvement from wiring and troubleshooting to startup and ongoing maintenance of control systems. The role emphasizes hands-on fault finding, collaboration with engineers, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of production lines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of related experience.
• PLC programming experience with ability to read prints/schematics.
• Comfort with programming a machine process from scratch.
• Ability to identify info from motor data plates for components such as contactors, soft starters, and VFDs.
• Familiarity with PNP, NPN, loop-powered and dry contact sensors.
• Familiarity with 4-20mA and 0-10V analog signals.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting and panel building experience.
• Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install and build PLC panels, then program and bring them online.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotic systems.
• Configure, test, operate, maintain and service automated controls used in production.
• Work with engineers and production teams to achieve desired output.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine upgrades.
• Repair and replace defective parts on machine controls and tools.
