Job summary

Key People is seeking a Controls Technician to join our day shift in the southwest Atlanta suburban area. The role focuses on designing, integrating, and commissioning control systems for automated equipment, including building PLC panels and programming them to run.

The candidate will configure, test, operate, maintain, service, and troubleshoot controls, with responsibilities spanning from pneumatics and hydraulics to motor and sensor integration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience.
• PLC programming with confidence in PLC programs.
• Wiring a 9-lead motor and stress testing windings.
• Able to identify info from motors data plate for specing or programming components.
• Familiarity with sensors (PNP/NPN, loop-powered, dry contact).
• Analog control: 4-20mA and 0-10V signals.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting.
• Panel building and electrical experience.
• Some robotic experience.
• Safety circuit integration.
• Authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cell design and integration of controls for automated equipment.
• Build PLC panels and program them to run.
• Configure, test, operate, maintain, service, and troubleshoot controls and automated systems.
• Repair or replace defective parts in machinery controls and systems.
• Disassemble/reassemble equipment for repairs.
• Train others to install, use, and service equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to achieve output targets.
