Job summary

The role emphasizes strong leadership, deep knowledge of upgrade plant equipment and control systems, and collaboration with Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors to maintain safety, reliability, and efficient operations at the UPG plant.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of Upgrade plant equipment, unit operations, procedures/SOCLs, operator responsibilities, and KPIs.
• Working knowledge of DCS, SIS, alarms, interlocks, and process control systems.
• Strong leadership, planning, organization, prioritization, and change-leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across functions.
• Strong troubleshooting and structured problem-solving including RCA, 5-Why.
• Detail oriented with commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
• Strong computer skills, including SAP, Microsoft Office, and PI.

Responsibilities

• Lead operator training and assess readiness.
• Manage SOP/SOCL programs and related docs.
• Plan outages and turnaround activities.
• Lead long-term improvement projects.
• Support MOC development and plant changes.
• Drive safety and environmental initiatives.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration.
