Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team at Cobb County Jail in Marietta, GA. You will provide holistic nursing care within a correctional setting and support providers with examinations, treatments, and routine procedures.

The role requires an active LPN license, CPR certification, and proficiency with electronic medical records, plus the ability to pass a Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers with examinations, treatments, tests, and procedures.
• Obtain patient histories, collect specimens, vital signs, and TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and relay results to the physician or nurse.
• Ensure proper care for injuries or conditions and review patient charts.
• Coordinate transfers to medical facilities and document patient contacts in the EHR.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient’s conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN
• Current CPR certificate
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include a background check and drug screen
