Job summary

S:US is seeking an Assistant Program Director for Day Habilitation in New York, NY. The role blends clinical QIDP expertise with program leadership to develop person-centered plans, ensure compliance with OPWDD/Medicaid, and supervise DSP staff to promote community integration and meaningful daily activities.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in human services, at least one year in IDD work, QIDP experience, and bilingual abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field required.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with IDD.
• Minimum 1 year experience as QIDP with individuals with IDD preferred.
• Bi-lingual is a must.
• Demonstrated knowledge of day habilitation services, OPWDD regulations, and Medicaid billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of individualized person-centered plans.
• Oversee daily operations of the Day Habilitation program ensuring quality services.
• Mentor DSPs and staff through training, coaching, and role modeling.
• Support program management and emergency responsiveness during high-demand periods.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and advocate for person-centered practices.
• Coordinate Staff Action Plans reflecting meaningful outcomes.
• Advocate for persons supported during Life Plan meetings.
• Participate in screening, admission, and discharge processes to ensure smooth transitions.
• Facilitate community integration and participation in activities.
