Job summary

Services for the UnderServed in New York is seeking an Assistant Program Director – Day Habilitation. This leadership role blends clinical expertise with operations to oversee person-centered plans and day habilitation services.

You will mentor DSPs, ensure OPWDD and Medicaid compliance, coordinate Staff Action Plans, and promote community integration while guiding the program toward quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with IDD.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the role of QIDP with individuals with IDD.
• Demonstrated knowledge of day habilitation services, Supported Employment, OPWDD regulations, and Medicaid billing processes.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of individualized person-centered plans (Staff Action Plans) aligned with Life Plan.
• Oversee daily operations of the Day Habilitation program ensuring compliant, quality services.
• Mentor DSPs and staff through training, coaching, and role modeling to enhance skills and compliance.
• Support program management, staff supervision, and emergency responsiveness during high-demand periods.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and advocate for rights, dignity, and independence.
