Job summary

On Your Mark in Staten Island is seeking a Day Habilitation Coordinator to oversee daily program areas and staff, designing curricula for individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities while aligning activities to each participant’s goals. You will prepare Day Habilitation Plans, staff action plans, and billing documentation.

The role includes representing the program at Life Plan meetings, coordinating community-based activities, and supporting program development with Directors.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities and OPWDD regulations.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in the developmental disabilities field.
• Ability to instruct and support program activities such as physical fitness, cooking, academics, arts and crafts, and community integration.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong written communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to identify changes in participant behavior, determine interventions, and act promptly.
• Identify staff training needs and promote professional development.

Responsibilities

• Immediately report any incidents or suspected incidents of abuse to a supervisor.
• Ensure program compliance with OPWDD and NYS Justice Center regulations.
• Collaborate with staff to develop schedules and activities that promote participation across multiple areas.
• Provide on-site leadership and supervision to Day Habilitation staff.
• Oversee implementation of all program activities and guide Staff Action Plan goals.
• Conduct regular team meetings to provide supervision and direction.
• Monitor staff performance and adjust assignments as needed.
• Support participants in achieving their fullest potential and positive behaviors.
• Attend trainings and certifications including OPWDD in-service, AMAP, CPR, First Aid, SCIP-R.
• Document and report participant progress to supervisors or clinical staff.
• Assist with transportation and arrival/departure routines.
• Develop staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for personal care and medication administration.
• Perform other duties to ensure safety, quality and compliance.
