Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island is seeking a Day Habilitation Director to oversee our day habilitation program for individuals with developmental disabilities, designing engaging activities and leading a dedicated staff to deliver high-quality care.

You will collaborate with participants, families, and community partners, develop individualized plans, manage budgets, ensure documentation and compliance, and drive program improvements through data-driven assessments.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Experience developing creative programming for persons with disabilities.
• Knowledge of OPWDD funding and regulatory guidelines.
• 3 years’ supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the Day Habilitation program.
• Provide overall program supervision for individual services and staff.
• Ensure documentation and compliance across all services.
• Track staff professional development and required trainings.
• Monitor participant satisfaction and address program issues.
• Collaborate with other departments and community partners.
• Lead Life Plan Meetings, Staff Action Plans and Safeguards.
• Hire, supervise, and mentor staff, interns and volunteers.
• Oversee agency-wide procedures on behalf of individuals with disabilities.
