Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island is seeking a Day Habilitation Director to oversee our day habilitation program for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will lead a team of dedicated staff, design engaging programs, manage budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with participants, families, and community organizations to create individualized plans.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Experience developing creative programming for persons with disabilities.
• Knowledge of OPWDD funding and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to collaborate with other agencies and community at large.
• 3 years’ supervisory experience
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the Day Habilitation program.
• Handle incident management.
• Provide overall program supervision for individual services and the staff delivering those services.
• Ensures documentation and compliance.
• Track professional development and required training for all staff.
• Monitor participant satisfaction and address program issues.
• Participate and manage Life Plan Meetings, Staff Action Plans and Safeguards.
• Collaborate with other JCC Departments for program ideas and activities reflective of individual and program need.
• Foster independence among individuals served.
• Supervise and hire staff, student interns and volunteers.
• All other projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Implementation and supervision of agency-wide procedures on behalf of individuals with disabilities.
