Trail Blazers is seeking a Day Camp Director to lead year‑round operations, blending summer camp responsibilities with off‑season recruitment and community engagement in New York. Qualifications

• Camp administrative and leadership experience is a non‑negotiable requirement
• 3+ years of progressively responsible managerial and supervisory experience in a camp setting or youth development organization
• Experience with environmental science, outdoor education, or outdoor adventure programming preferred
• Substantial knowledge of youth/child development
• Demonstrated success cultivating environments that empower others to lead
• High level analytic, problem solving, verbal, and written communications skills
• Must meet all ACA standards for day camp directors, including a minimum age of 25
• Prior experience with NYC DOH Camp Permit process and ACA Accreditation preferred
• Willingness to undergo background check requirements, including NYC DOH background check requirements to obtain a camp permit
• Current advanced CPR/first aid certification, or willingness to procure
• Ability to interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Ability to remain stationary for up to 70% of the work day
• Ability to move safely around the office
• Ability to climb flights of stairs
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to move over rough terrain for extended periods of time
• Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations

Responsabilités

• Oversee and provide guidance to our senior day camp team
• Manage day-to-day camp operations including program, staff, and schedules (summer)
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and ACA accreditation standards
• Manage parent communication and relationship management including escalated incidents
• Create a safe and joyful camp environment focused on positive youth development
• Manage School Break and Holiday Camps including budgets, enrollment, staffing and program
• Supervise a team of seasonal leadership staff and coach/perform evaluations
• Work with Human Resources on seasonal staff recruitment, hiring and onboarding
• Develop staffing plans and staff training; conduct mid-season and end-of-summer evaluations
• Oversee external vendors, partners and field trips
