Mount Hermon Association invites applications for a Day Camp Assistant Lead to support the Family Ministries Children’s Coordinator and Day Camp Team Lead. You will help supervise counselors, deliver curriculum, and coordinate daily activities while modeling a Christ-centered lifestyle and ensuring camper safety.

This role requires church-minded leadership, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; some college experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required before arriving at camp.
• Prior Day Camp experience and leadership roles preferred.
• Ability to lead, teach with patience and clear instruction.
• A heart to serve, strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staff leadership through training, team building, and constant communication under the direction of the Family Ministries Children’s Coordinator and the Team Lead.
• Run daily grade group meetings with team of counselors, coordinate and distribute daily program schedules, delegate tasks for activities, and facilitate cleaning group responsibilities.
• Help kids encounter God and others by partnering with the Day Camp team in all aspects of discipleship; implementing Day Camp curriculum within small and large groups.
• Responsible for the welfare of campers through guidance and supervision of Day Campers.
• Coordinate with Team Lead and other Assistant Leads to implement a variety of camp activities and curriculum.
• Provide counseling for a group of children.
• Lead and assist in crafts, music, drama, group games, etc.
• Share in the responsibility of keeping camp areas, including workspaces and supplies, clean and orderly.
• Attend a weekly meeting with the Family Ministries Children’s Coordinator and the Leadership Team.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
