Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Newton, MA is seeking a Merchandise Manager who will drive merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards.

You will ensure accurate pricing and timely promotional execution, maintaining a customer-ready store environment through strong workload planning and inventory management. You will lead store operations, train team members, manage in-stock levels, execute ad sets and price changes,

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and company programs for compliance.
• Ensure execution of company policies and standards; hold team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution processes for unloading, sorting, and merchandise flow to sales floor.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization with store leadership to align staffing.
• Execute and maintain Store-In-Stock Optimization routines to drive in-stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
• Oversee Planogram (POG) execution to complete merchandising sets on schedule.
• Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards and product presentation.
• Support a clean, organized, customer-ready store environment including backroom and sales floor recovery.
• Manage inventory control, ensuring product accuracy and efficient stock movement.
• Execute ad sets with compliant promotional signage and product placement.
• Complete price changes accurately and on time; maintain pricing integrity.
• Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment; ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped efficiently.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving with accuracy and proper inventory adjustments.
• Manage store damages procedures; shrink reduction.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
