Job summary

Molex is seeking a Field Applications Engineer for Datacom - AI to drive design wins and resolve technical barriers for high-speed copper and fiber optic solutions. You will partner with customer engineering and Molex teams to push opportunities in a key datacom customer, primarily in Austin, TX.

You will support design-in activities, collaborate with reliability teams, and develop technical documentation while maintaining strong customer relationships and regional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics or related field.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics or related field (preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years in electronics/interconnects and customer interfacing.

Responsibilities

• Support customer engineering contacts and Molex sales to secure new design wins and Salesforce pipeline growth.
• Collaborate with customer development/reliability engineers to resolve design-in issues for High Speed I/Os, Backplane/BTB/Storage Connectors, Cables.
• Recommend improvements to interconnect systems and establish strategic technical relationships with customer engineers.
• Provide innovative solutions leveraging Molex offerings and assist Account Management with proposals.
• Share knowledge with other Molex FAE’s in Infotech/Datacom space
• Coordinate with Product Management, Global Sales, Advanced Development, Signal Integrity and other groups.
• Develop documents and application notes for customers.
