Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Technician Level 2 for a long-term contract based in Santa Clara, CA. The role involves build-out and support of a data center, with hands-on installation, deployment, and troubleshooting tasks on servers and network equipment.

You will troubleshoot, install parts, update firmware, configure devices, and assist network admins. This onsite position offers a focused, hands-on environment with opportunities to support DC/Lab teams and Level 1 tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 recent valid references are required.
• All submittals must be true L2 break/fix.
• L2 troubleshooting installs and ops; not remote hands or escalated tickets.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot servers and isolate problems.
• Order and install replacement parts; return defective parts to vendors.
• Update firmware on servers to latest version.
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Assist network admins with server issues and cabling tasks.
• Rack and stack servers or switches in cabinets and cable for remote access.
• Assist network admins with server or switch-related requests.
• Support Level 1 responsibilities as needed.
