Job summary

St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking a Database Administrator II or III to design, implement, and maintain district-wide database environments. The role supports modernization of legacy apps, data querying, analytics, and cloud migration efforts.

You will work with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and other data technologies, collaborating with developers and stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable solutions. Strong SQL and Linux/UNIX experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or MIS with 3 years of DB admin experience in PostgreSQL/Oracle/MS SQL/MySQL and 2 years Linux/UNIX.
Two-year program with 5 years DB admin experience and 2 years Linux/UNIX.
Advanced degree may substitute for part of experience.
Professional DB admin experience may substitute for college education.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain database engines, app servers, and related core software; optimize structures and data loading.
Monitor database performance and SQL statements; diagnose and resolve data issues for users and developers.
Define and manage database access controls and user permissions.
