Job summary

ManpowerGroup, the staffing partner for Financial Services client, seeks a Database Administrator to join the IT Production Support team in Hoboken, NJ (Hybrid). The role focuses on maintaining production database platforms and supporting application teams to ensure service availability and performance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of DBA experience in MS SQL Server with Oracle, strong SQL/T-SQL/PL-SQL skills, and scripting proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent.
• 5+ years DBA experience on Windows for MS SQL Server, with Oracle experience.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Transact-SQL, and PL/SQL; able to design/write stored procedures.
• Experience with database access controls, auditing, monitoring, and change management.
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell or other) and version control; replication services experience (SQL Always-On, Doubletake, AWS DRS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily processing, research exceptions, and respond to requests to keep production database services running smoothly.
• Monitor database performance and perform tuning to improve stability and performance.
• Establish and monitor backup, recovery, and replication processes for availability and continuity.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing with the Business Continuity Team and support recovery readiness.
• Support L2 production support activities for internal and vendor applications, including real-time issue correction and clear communication to clients and management.

Our client, Financial Services is seeking a Database Administrator to join their team.

As a Database Administrator, you will be part of the IT Production Support area supporting production database platforms and application teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem analysis and resolution skills, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and the ability to work independently in a decentralized environment without relying on direct authority, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Monitor daily processing, research exceptions, and respond to request items to keep production database services running smoothly.
• Monitor database performance and perform database tuning to improve stability, responsiveness, and overall system health.
• Establish and monitor database backup, recovery, and replication processes to support availability and continuity.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of DBA experience on Windows for Microsoft SQL Server, with Oracle experience, and working knowledge across Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, Transact SQL, and PL/SQL, including the ability to design and write stored procedures.
• Experience with database access controls, auditing, monitoring, and operational best practices, including change management adherence.
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell or other scripting languages) and version control systems; replication services experience (SQL Always-On, Doubletake, AWS DRS) is a plus.
