Job summary

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) is seeking a Director of Data and Systems to lead data management and system support for procurement operations. You will drive data-driven decision making and oversee core systems that support contracting, reporting, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years writing queries in SQL or equivalent.
• 2+ years developing and testing software or platforms.
• Experience engaging stakeholders and managing projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee collection, organization, and analysis of procurement data to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Align data systems with city procurement policies, regulations, and best practices.
• Prepare reports, interpret findings, and create data visualizations using appropriate tools.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the agency's Purchasing and ConTrak systems; provide technical assistance and training.
• Support ACCO Help Desk with procurement-related inquiries and system issues.
• Maintain and update the ACCO SharePoint site and coordinate content on the Health Department website.
• Train staff on PASSPort, FMS, Direct Order, and other procurement platforms.
• Supervise and mentor the data and systems specialist.
• Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades and integrations.
• Assist with onboarding new ACCO staff related to systems use.
• Liaise with NYC Health Department IT, Finance IT liaisons, and MOCS to streamline processes.
• Perform special projects and related work as required.
