Job summary

PIMCO is seeking a Data Strategy Lead for our Portfolio Management business to join in Newport Beach (preferred) or NYC office. You will shape the technical vision for data management and production that underpins research, analytics tools, dashboards and decision support for PM teams.

You will oversee a comprehensive internal data catalog, ensure data quality, and lead scalable pipelines and production workflows, including time series analytics, risk and performance modeling.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Data Science, CS, Financial Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• Experience architecting production data pipelines and analytics platforms in financial services.
• Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate across business and technology functions.
• Programming in Python and experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake).
• Expertise in time series analysis, financial modeling, and quantitative analytics.
• Strong background in data query, search, monitoring, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee internal data catalog creation and governance for market and analytical data.
• Lead data strategy alignment with Technology, Analytics and PM to drive scalable architectures.
• Design scalable data pipelines and production workflows for portfolio analytics.
• Establish data quality controls, automated validation, anomaly detection, and monitoring.
• Promote AI/LLM and data asset leveraging across PM and Analytics for business impact.
