Job summary

PIMCO seeks a VP-level Senior Software Developer to lead development and implementation of analytics tools and APIs for quants and portfolio managers.

You will provide technical leadership while remaining hands on: design, build, test, and deploy scalable frontend UIs, high-performance backend services, and APIs; collaborate with engineering, quant teams, and portfolio managers to define scope and priorities; own delivery, production reliability, and incident response; and mentor peers.

Qualifications

• Strong Python proficiency, advanced SQL for complex data analysis, 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering production systems, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with quantitative workflows or direct experience working with quant teams is required.
• Preferred: distributed systems or large-scale data processing, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD. Frontend JavaScript experience is a plus.
• The role requires clear communication, results orientation, and willingness to take on multiple roles to deliver solutions under time pressure.
