Job summary

PIMCO seeks a VP-level Senior Software Developer to spearhead analytics tools and APIs for quants and portfolio managers. The role blends leadership with hands-on delivery across frontend UIs, backend services, and APIs.

You will translate requirements into scalable designs and collaborate closely with engineering, quant teams, and portfolio managers to set scope and priorities. You will own delivery, production reliability, and incident response while mentoring peers and guiding best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong Python proficiency and advanced SQL for data analysis.
• Familiarity with distributed systems or large-scale data processing is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Front-end JavaScript experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of analytics tools and APIs for quants and portfolio managers.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on: design, build, test, deploy scalable frontend UIs, backend services, and APIs.
• Translate requirements into technical designs and prioritize scope with engineering, quant teams, and portfolio managers.
