Job summary

CarGurus LLC is seeking a Sales Engineer, Data Solutions to own building relationships with data customers and drive the sale of data-powered solutions. You will prospect new buyers, run consultative conversations, map analytical needs to datasets, close deals, and guide customers through data delivery.

This early-stage, build-from-scratch role sits at the intersection of commercial selling and technical solutioning.

Qualifications

6+ years in B2B sales, sales engineering, data/SaaS solutions selling, or hybrid commercial-technical roles.
Experience selling data, analytics, or technical products to sophisticated buyers, from prospecting to close.
Comfortable structuring and selling 5-6 figure commercial agreements.
Strong data fluency: schemas, granularity, aggregation, and data delivery mechanisms.
Consultative selling: translate use cases into a scoped, priced offer.
Ability to define pricing, packaging, and process in ambiguous environments.
Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Strategy, Legal, and Business Operations to close deals.
Excellent commercial communication and executive presence.

Responsibilities

Own the Direct-Sales Motion across non-dealer segments; prospect, qualify, and close with data assets.
Translate customer requirements into scoped data offers: asset, structure, granularity, and delivery method.
Drive national dealer data monetization through Data APIs and asset acquisitions.
Build customer intelligence and feedback loops to shape pricing and roadmap.
