Job summary

CarGurus is seeking a Senior Data Product Manager to own end-to-end EDS data products, from concept to externally consumable assets. You will define schemas, governance, and delivery mechanisms, collaborating with Strategy, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and GTM to bring data assets to market.

You will prototype new data assets using dbt, supervise data quality, and shape a scalable productization framework, aligning with SLAs and customer feedback to drive monetization across the data

Qualifications

• Experience taking a data asset from concept to externally consumable product.
• Strong SQL fluency and working knowledge of modern data stack tooling.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Strategy, Legal, and GTM.
• Ability to define scope, set readiness criteria, and own roadmaps.
• Experience launching or scaling a data product or data marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end definition of EDS data products (Search, Price, Inventory).
• Translate signals into clearly scoped data products with structure and cadence.
• Produce exportable, governed datasets repeatably with external SLAs in mind.
• Lead MVP scope sessions and determine delivery approach (Snowflake share, SFTP, API).
• Create data dictionaries, schema docs, and use-case framing for assets.
• Prototype assets via automated transformations (dbt) with Data Engineering.
• Define operational SLAs, monitoring, and incident response for external use.
• Establish standards/templates for saleable data assets and handoff to GTM.
