Job summary

Mathematica, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist (Remote Eligible) to derive meaning from data using data-driven approaches to address healthcare policy questions for clients.

You will own data processing, build pipelines, and apply statistical, machine learning, and AI methods across research reports, internal systems, and client solutions. This role offers remote flexibility and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams nationwide.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical field such as statistics, data science, or computer science.
• 3+ years experience in data cleaning and analysis with R/Python.
• Experience applying generative AI programmatically for insights.
• Experience with causal, predictive, and descriptive data science methods.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and remote/hybrid settings.

Responsibilities

• Derive meaning from data through data-driven approaches to solve policy questions.
• Write and maintain programming in Python and R to build and evaluate models.
• Develop reliable data pipelines on cloud, internal, and client servers.
• Communicate technical results to diverse stakeholders and teams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and methodologies.
• Co-develop analysis plans with senior scientists and researchers.
• Lead small project tasks with guidance from senior staff.
