The ideal candidate has strong causal inference and AI skills, experience with SQL/Big Data platforms, and the ability to work remotely or flexibly within office locations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in statistics, data science, or a related technical field; equivalent experience accepted.
• Strong interest and experience using data science to contribute to policy or social-impact projects.
• Experience applying generative AI to extract insights from unstructured data.
• Experience using causal, predictive, and descriptive techniques (regression, ML, network analysis, NLP).
• At least three years of data cleaning/analysis using R, Python, or Julia in academic, extracurricular, or professional settings.
• Ability to work independently within an interdisciplinary, possibly dispersed team; eager to learn.
• Experience with reproducible research, version control, and visualization in R/Python.

Responsibilities

• Conduct causal, predictive, and descriptive analyses.
• Write and maintain programming systems in Python and R to build and evaluate models.
• Develop reliable data pipelines to obtain, combine, and transform datasets on cloud, internal, and client servers.
• Communicate technical results to diverse stakeholders including clients and cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain technical and methodological documentation.
• Co-develop analysis plans with a senior data scientist or researcher.
• Lead and manage small teams and tasks with oversight from a senior staff member.
