Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Data Scientist II to support the USSOCOM POTFF program by identifying and implementing innovative, high-value analytics across the SOF enterprise.

The role applies advanced analytics, NLP, and machine learning to improve the well-being of SOF service members and their families, with a focus on experimentation and data-driven decisions.

U.S. citizenship is required and candidates must have an active Secret clearance as payload for contract performance and program success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in quantitative science, social science, or related field.
• Three or more years of research experience in academic, social services, government, healthcare, or lab setting.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Advanced proficiency with statistical software and programming tools (SPSS, SAS, Python, R Shiny).
• Demonstrated research proficiency with publications.
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with large data sets.
• Apply data mining, NLP, and machine learning to improve relevance and personalization algorithms.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to design experiments and MVPs.
• Discover data sources, access, clean, and prepare data for modeling.
• Create and refine features from data; run A/B tests and report results.
