Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support the USSOCOM POTFF program, identifying innovative solutions across the SOF enterprise to improve short and long-term well-being of warriors and their families. You will consult with units and POTFF staff to identify opportunities for data capture and analysis.

The role emphasizes advanced ML, statistical analysis, data collection enhancements, and SME leadership. Requires active U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of data analysis/science experience with data-driven decision making.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
• Experience with data science toolkits and data visualization tools.
• Excellent SQL and relational database skills.
• Strong communication and ability to work with business users.

Responsibilities

• Interpret results using data aggregation, statistics, data mining and pattern recognition.
• Develop classifiers with modern machine learning techniques for performance gains.
• Serve as SME in data and analytics for peers and stakeholders.
• Apply decision technologies: optimization, simulation, regression, trees, neural networks, etc.
• Use statistical methods to forecast trends and maintain reliable predictions.
• Expand data collection procedures for robust analytical systems.
• Develop automated anomaly detection and monitor model performance.
• Lead project management and team communication to ensure timely execution.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to grow team expertise.
• Drive execution of additional strategic initiatives for Maximus.
