Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support the POTFF program for USSOCOM. You will identify opportunities, guide analytics strategy, and implement data-driven solutions across SOF domains.

The role requires clear communication with stakeholders and SME leadership in analytics. Responsibilities include selecting ML techniques, maintaining predictive models, expanding data collection, and ensuring timely project delivery while staying current on emerging technologies relevant to Maximus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years.
• BS/MS/PhD in Statistics/Mathematics/Operations Research/CS—Machine Learning or related.
• 7+ years of data analysis/science with data-driven decision making.
• Strong understanding of ML techniques and algorithms (e.g., k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Trees).
• Experience with data science toolkits and data visualization tools.
• Advanced statistics: distributions, testing, regression, etc.
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Interpret results using range of techniques from data aggregation to advanced mining.
• Develop features and classifiers using modern ML techniques for better performance.
• Act as SME in data and analytics for peers and stakeholders.
• Identify suitable decision-technology methods (optimization, simulation, regression, etc.).
• Use statistics to forecast trends and maintain reliable predictions.
• Expand MAXIMUS data collection to build robust analytic systems.
• Develop automated anomaly detection and monitor model performance.
