Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Data Scientist II to support USSOCOM POTFF by applying advanced analytics, ML and NLP to improve SOF well-being. The role requires U.S. citizenship and a Secret clearance, with responsibilities spanning data access, modeling, experiments, and dashboard development.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in a quantitative field, 3+ years’ research experience, and strong Python/R/SAS/SPSS skills, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities across teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in quantitative science, social science, or related field.
• 3+ years in research in academic, social services, government, healthcare, or lab setting.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access.
• Experience with Python, R, SPSS, SAS, or similar tools.
• Strong publications track record and fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with large data sets.
• Apply NLP and ML techniques to improve personalization algorithms.
• Collaborate with product, software, and design teams on experiments and MVPs.
• Access, clean, and prepare data; build model-ready datasets.
• Develop and refine features; run A/B tests and present results.
