Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support the USSOCOM POTFF program, identifying innovative data-driven opportunities across the SOF enterprise to improve the short and long-term well-being of warriors and their families.

You will interpret results, develop predictive models, mentor analysts, and collaborate with stakeholders to apply decision technologies that enhance program impact and drive data‑led decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and 7+ years of data analysis/science experience.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and data-driven decision making.
• Experience with data visualization and SQL/rational databases.

Responsibilities

• Interpret results using basic data aggregation to advanced data mining.
• Build and refine classifiers with modern ML techniques for performance.
• Serve as SME in data/analytics for peers and stakeholders.
• Apply decision technologies like optimization, simulation, regression, and neural networks.
• Use statistics to forecast trends and maintain reliable predictions.
• Enhance MAXIMUS data collection for robust analytics systems.
• Develop automated anomaly detection and monitor model performance.
• Lead project management and cross-team communications for timely delivery.
• Keep up with new technologies to grow the team's capabilities.
• Drive expansion of MAXIMUS strategic data initiatives.
