Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Data Scientist to support the POTFF program, applying advanced analytics to improve readiness and well-being of Special Operations personnel and families.

Position requires U.S. citizenship and an active or eligible Secret clearance. You will transform complex health and operation data into actionable insights, working with cross-functional teams to design experiments, models, and dashboards for evidence-based decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of professional experience.
• Advanced degree preferred in CS, IS, analytics, or a related field.
• 1-3+ years applying quantitative research to optimize human decisions with ML or DL.
• 1+ years with ML/DL frameworks (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).
• 1+ years data engineering with big data tools on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 1+ years programming in Python, Scala, or Julia.
• Experience deploying ML models in discovery/production environments (MLOps a plus).
• Ability to communicate technical findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with large data sets.
• Apply NLP and ML to improve relevance and personalization algorithms.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to design experiments and MVPs.
• Discover data sources, clean, and prepare data for modeling.
• Create and refine features and run A/B tests with statistical analysis.
