SMX is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team supporting a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. You will bridge business needs with technical solutions, focusing on requirements analysis, business process improvement, and data-driven decisions to support IT transformation.

Essential duties include designing Databricks-based solutions, modifying data models, promoting code, and building reports from ERP data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• 6 years of related work experience are required.
• U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance are required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Python and PySpark.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Army functional knowledge with requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and participate in discussions.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS/Azure).
• Solid software engineering process experience (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently and share knowledge through code reviews and documentation.
• Driven, self-directed, with a strong sense of mission and commitment.

Responsabilités
