Job summary

HDR is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to help build internal AI capabilities across HDR’s Transportation Business Group. The role focuses on developing AI solutions, improving data foundations, and removing bottlenecks to scale AI across the organization.

In later phases, the role will extend to client-facing AI delivery, advisory work, and the evolution of repeatable AI services. This position emphasizes collaboration and a strong ownership culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience with data engineering tools SQL, Power Query, and Pandas.
• Minimum 3 years experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, and Matplotlib.
• Minimum 3 years experience with data science languages such as Python and R.
• Experience with generative AI and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience managing end-to-end data science projects and model lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Internal AI Capability Development: Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions addressing internal transportation business needs.
• Build reusable AI components, data pipelines, and workflows for future client delivery.
• Manage full model lifecycle including development, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining, and inference.
