Job summary

HDR is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to help build internal AI capabilities and remove constraints that limit scaling AI across HDR’s Transportation Business Group.

The role starts with internal solution development, data and tooling enhancements, and bottleneck identification, then gradually expands to client-facing AI delivery and advisory work using proven internal solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with data engineering tools and languages (SQL, Power Query, Pandas).
• 3+ years experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib).
• 3+ years experience with data science languages (Python, R).
• Experience managing end-to-end data science projects and model lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions addressing internal transportation needs (e.g., document intelligence, predictive analytics, copilots, workflow automation).
• Build reusable AI components, data pipelines, and scalable workflows for future client delivery.
• Manage full model lifecycle including development, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining, and inference.
