Job summary

Hyundai Capital America is seeking a Data Science Manager to independently build, validate, and deploy ML and AI solutions across the enterprise. You will apply LLM-based and traditional ML techniques, partnering with business, product, and governance teams to deliver governable, measurable results.

The role emphasizes problem framing, data prep, model development, evaluation, and production support, with strong collaboration and leadership expectations in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years hands-on experience building ML/AI models and deploying to production.
• Experience leading projects or workstreams of moderate scope.
• Automotive or financial services experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s in Data Science/CS/Stats/Math/Engineering; related work experience may be considered.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of applied ML, AI, statistics including evaluation/validation.
• Experience with LLMs, agent development, RAG, tool calling, guardrails.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark and SQL; ML/LLM frameworks.
• Experience deploying models on AWS (SageMaker/Bedrock) or similar; MLOps/LLMOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy ML/AI/statistical models for business problems.
• Build and evaluate LLM-based and agentic AI solutions with guardrails.
• Deploy models to production; maintain pipelines, versioning and drift monitoring.
• Collaborate with business, product, tech, governance and security teams.
• Contribute to modeling standards and provide technical guidance.
• Translate business problems into data science solutions and explain results.
