Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments, including DLP, DSPM, and de-identification solutions. The role involves policy configuration, incident resolution, and collaboration with engineers to improve security posture.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with DLP, regulatory frameworks, and multi-cloud architectures (GCP/AWS/Azure), plus programming skills in Python/PowerShell.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years in Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5 years creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years with 2+ programming languages (Python/Java/JavaScript/BASH/PowerShell).
• 3 years designing and supporting architecture for 2+ cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/27002, ITIL.
• Advanced cloud certifications (GCP/AWS/Azure) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms.
• Deploy and configure DLP, DSPM, and data de-identification solutions.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions.
• Configure and maintain data protection policies and tuning.
• Troubleshoot incidents; perform root cause analysis and remediation.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation and documentation.
• Utilize PowerShell, Python to improve efficiency and deployment.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
