Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, is seeking a Data Platform Engineering Manager to lead our enterprise data platform team. You will oversee performance, reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency across relational, NoSQL, and analytical data platforms.

You will drive IaC and GitOps practices, coach engineers, and coordinate with security and analytics to deliver robust data solutions in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, Data Engineering, or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Certifications in Microsoft Fabric or Azure data platforms valued (DP-600/DP-203/DP-300).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day data platform operations and 24x7 on-call support.
• Oversee relational, NoSQL, and analytical platforms; drive automation and IaC adoption.
• Manage cost, licensing, and capacity per org guidelines.
• Ensure security, compliance, and data governance across platforms.
• Mentor engineers; drive cross-team collaboration and vendor evaluations.
