Job summary

Palmetto is seeking a seasoned data engineering leader to head the data platform that underpins product, finance, operations, and AI agents. You will shape architecture, drive secure access, and ensure scalable, governed data across the customer journey—from sales to installation and long-term production data.

You will stay close to the work to review designs, write code when helpful, and mentor a team of engineers to deliver reliable data infrastructure with auditable data lineage.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or data engineering, including 5+ years managing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the data engineering team, hire and develop talent.
• Set roadmap aligned with company objectives and deliver cross-team projects on time and budget.
• Own the data architecture including ingestion, modeling, semantic layer, and governance.
• Own platform outcomes with reliable pipelines and agent-ready data traceable to sources.
• Direct the secure access path, APIs, and governance with costs in check.
• Build governance for AI data consumers with traceable answers to source.
• Partner with finance, operations, sales, marketing, and product on evolving data needs.
