Job summary

Excellus BCBS seeks a Manager of Data Platform Administration to lead the team responsible for planning, designing, developing and maintaining data systems and applications. You will work with users to understand needs, enforce standards, and ensure high‑quality solutions while mentoring staff and managing resources within corporate guidelines.

Effective collaboration with IT leadership and data center operations will be essential to deliver reliable, scalable platforms that support business

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or relevant field. In lieu of a degree, six (6) years of experience required.
• Advanced expertise in database design, development, testing and maintenance for production ready systems.
• Advanced expertise in structured systems analysis and design, user relations, data gathering techniques, and management information systems.
• Prior experience supervising or managing people and/or projects or indirectly leading teams.
• Demonstrated analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Expertise in project planning and project management.
• Ability to effectively communication, across all levels within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and control the activities of the systems lifecycle.
• Consult with sponsors, requesters and user representatives to clarify intent and discuss alternatives.
• Estimate staffing requirements, costs and time; assign resources and track progress with PM tools.
• Review major deliverables and ensure required walkthroughs with users.
• Coordinate with data center management on issues and resource utilization.
• Mentor Data Platform Administration staff and manage budgets within guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.
