Excellus BCBS in New York seeks a Manager of Data Platform Administration to lead a cross-functional team responsible for Databricks, IBM Cognos, Power BI and SAS platforms. You will direct architecture, standards and governance for data systems and mentor analysts and developers.

The role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives while ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of related work experience or six years with equivalent credentials.
• Advanced expertise in database design, development, testing and maintenance for production-ready systems.
• Advanced expertise in structured systems analysis and design, data gathering, and MIS.
• Experience supervising or managing people and/or projects.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven project planning and management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.

Responsabilités

• Plan, direct and control activities across the systems lifecycle.
• Consult with sponsors and users to clarify intent and explore solutions.
• Estimate staffing, costs and timelines; allocate resources and track progress.
• Review major deliverables and ensure walkthroughs with users.
• Coordinate with data center management for issue resolution and cost efficiency.
• Support development of corporate information systems models and sequences.
• Advise subordinates on policies and priorities; mentor staff.
• Recruit, train and mentor Data Platform Administration professionals.
• Manage resources and operational costs within guidelines.
• Uphold privacy, ethics and compliance standards.
