Job summary

Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Data Platform Administration to lead the Data Platform Administration team in planning, design, development and maintenance of data systems.

You will work with users to understand plans and opportunities, and promote standards for data usage and performance. The role emphasizes supervising staff, coordinating projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate policies while maintaining privacy.

Qualifications

• Seven years related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or relevant field; in lieu of a degree, six years of experience.
• Advanced expertise in database design, development, testing and maintenance for production ready systems.
• Advanced expertise in structured systems analysis and design, user relations, data gathering techniques, and MIS.
• Prior experience supervising or managing people and/or projects or indirectly leading teams.
• Demonstrated analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
• Expertise in project planning and project management.
• Ability to effectively communicate across all levels within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and controls the systems lifecycle phases.
• Reviews service requests / projects and consults with sponsors, requesters, and users to clarify intent and discuss alternatives.
• Estimates staffing, costs and time for projects; uses PM tools to track progress and ensure schedules.
• Reviews and approves major deliverables of the development methodology and ensures walkthroughs with users.
• Communications with data center management for resolution of system problems and efficient use of resources.
• Assists the IS Planning Manager in developing corporate information systems and development sequencing.
• Confers with and advises subordinates on policies, problems, priorities and methods.
• Interviews, selects, trains and mentors Data Platform Administration professionals.
• Ensures availability and utilization of resources within corporate guidelines.
• Maintains high integrity with Lifetime Healthcare Companies’ mission and privacy policies.
• Maintains knowledge of regulatory mandates and ensures compliance.
• Conducts periodic staff meetings and shares departmental and Ethics/Compliance information.
• Regular attendance is expected; performs other functions as assigned by management.
