Job summary

Generalist is seeking an experienced Data Partnerships Lead to own the data engine required to scale model training and evaluation. You will identify and onboard data partners, negotiate terms, and build the infrastructure for global data collection and distribution.

You will translate complex model data needs into executable specs for partners, manage vendor performance, and iterate on datasets to meet research goals, with periodic travel to partner sites.

Qualifications

• 6+ years owning external partners or vendors
• Experience translating technical requirements into actionable specs
• Strong understanding of commercial mechanics (pricing, SOWs, unit economics)

Responsibilities

• Define data supply strategy and vendor landscape
• Source, evaluate and pilot new data partners with structured trials
• Elicit requirements with ML/engineering leads and translate into specs
• Author partner-facing specs and define unit deliveries, success criteria
• Structure pricing, terms, milestones and MSAs/SOWs with legal
• Scale partnerships into a network while maintaining cost and quality
• Maintain operating cadence: trackers, reviews, forecasts, cost/volume/quality
• Provide feedback to research on data outputs to influence next cycles
• Travel domestically and internationally to partner sites and collection ops
