Job summary

Generalist is seeking a Robotics Operations Manager to lead and scale on-site data-collection activities for robotic foundation models. You will supervise robot operators, shift leads, and lab readiness, collaborating with research and engineering to transform evolving priorities into reliable workflows and scalable procedures.

You will drive metrics on utilization, throughput, and data quality, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading day-to-day robotics or hands-on operational teams.
• Ability to translate research priorities into scalable, repeatable workflows.
• Comfort working around complex hardware and coordinating with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own daily robotics operations, staffing, task scheduling, and equipment readiness.
• Lead and develop operators and shift leads, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Keep the lab ready and safe with setup, readiness checks, and troubleshooting support.
• Translate research priorities into execution with clear instructions and quality checks.
• Establish metrics and reporting on robot utilization, throughput, and data quality.
• Build scalable operating procedures and training materials for growing fleets.
