Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Lead Data Governance Architect to drive the governance technology program on the Telemetry, Observability & Technology team under the Chief Data Officer. You will lead the implementation of an enterprise governance catalog, observability and data quality tooling, and identity integration across a multi‑platform estate.

You will mentor Senior Data Governance Architects, partner with Data Engineering and Information Security, and shape a scalable governance roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or governance tooling implementation, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Hands-on implementation experience with Informatica CDGC or a comparable enterprise catalog.
• Experience implementing Databricks Unity Catalog, including catalog hierarchies, RBAC, and data product registration.

Responsibilities

• Governance Catalog Implementation: Lead full implementation of the enterprise governance catalog (Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog) across legacy systems and modern platforms with consistency and auditability.
• Implementation Patterns & Technical Leadership: Define implementation patterns, be the main technical escalation, and mentor team members in governance engineering best practices.
• Observability & Data Quality Tooling: Own rollout of observability tooling, design data quality rule framework, set monitoring thresholds, and configure alerts.
• Technology Assessment: Lead technical assessment work, build evaluation environments, run capability tests, and document findings for new data tools.
• Identity & Access Integration: Coordinate SailPoint integration design and document identity-to-governance mappings.
• Phased Delivery Leadership: Lead governance technology roadmap delivery sequencing Unity Catalog connectivity, catalog scanning, and policy enforcement.
• Automation & Workflow Engineering: Design automated metadata ingestion, data quality rule deployment, and alert-driven workflows using Python/SQL.
