Job summary

Lumen seeks a Senior Lead Data Governance Architect to drive the enterprise governance program across a multi‑platform data estate. You will lead the governance catalog implementation, set patterns, and mentor a team of two Senior Data Governance Architects.

The role requires hands‑on delivery with tools like Informatica CDGC, Unity Catalog, and Validio, while coordinating with Security and Data Engineering to embed governance into platforms from the start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or governance tooling implementation, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Hands-on implementation experience with Informatica CDGC or a comparable enterprise catalog.
• Experience implementing Databricks Unity Catalog, including catalog hierarchies, RBAC, and data product registration.
• Experience leading technical delivery for a small team in a complex, multi-platform environment.
• Experience with data quality tooling (Validio, Great Expectations, Soda, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience building automated workflows, pipelines, and data transformation scripts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full implementation of the enterprise governance catalog (Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog).
• Define implementation patterns and provide technical escalation for the governance platform clusters.
• Oversee rollout of observability tooling and design data quality rule framework and alerts.
• Lead technical assessment work with the Director, Data Governance Technology; build test environments and evaluate new tools.
• Coordinate SailPoint integration design with Security; write governance mappings.
• Drive phased delivery of the governance roadmap, starting with Unity Catalog connectivity.
• Design automated metadata ingestion, data quality deployment, and alert-driven workflows using Python/SQL.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and Security to ensure governance is integrated from the start.
