Job summary

Guardian Life invites wired, collaborative undergrads to a 10-week paid data engineering internship. You’ll design and maintain data pipelines, work on real-world data products, and engage with senior leaders across offices. Exposure to Python, SQL, and cloud platforms supports reporting, analytics, and ML applications.

You’ll collaborate with analysts and engineers, gain practical experience, and network with peers while contributing to enterprise data initiatives. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Understanding of databases, data structures, and data processing concepts.
• Interest in data engineering, analytics engineering, AI/ML, or large-scale data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines.
• Work with structured and semi-structured data sources to build scalable data products.
• Learn and apply cloud-based data engineering technologies, including Databricks, AWS, Python, SQL, and data orchestration tools.
• Participate in data quality validation, monitoring, and documentation activities.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Explore AI-assisted engineering and modern data platforms to accelerate development.
• Develop skills in data exploration, engineering, and analysis while learning to think critically.
