Job summary

Binti is seeking a Data Engineer to own the data layer powering agency reporting. You will shape the transformation of data for enterprise reporting, building an analytics-ready data model and conformed dimensions that support dashboards and customer-ready reports.

The role emphasizes secure data models, reusable assets, and collaboration with product and customer teams to deliver insights that improve child welfare outcomes. Hybrid work in San Francisco Bay Area preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years software engineering experience with data focus
• Strong SQL skills and dimensional modeling expertise
• Experience building and maintaining transformation pipelines with tests and documentation
• Ability to translate requirements from non-technical stakeholders into a data model
• Familiarity with modern BI tools and data modeling layers (Looker, Sigma, Power BI)
• Ability to build reusable assets and self-service tooling
• Comfort with ambiguity and cross-team collaboration
• Interest in using AI tooling to accelerate delivery
• Motivation to improve child welfare outcomes through technology

Responsibilities

• Design and build the data transformation layer powering agency reporting
• Turn internal models into clean analytical tables with sensible grain and naming
• Ensure security model preserves authorization scoping and permissions
• Establish monitoring and alerting for data freshness and quality
• Design reporting architecture in tandem with product lifecycle
• Support time-series, cohorts, aging, time-in-status, and compliance windows patterns
• Own end-to-end reporting for a module and enable customer launch teams
