General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines, transforming structured and unstructured data for enterprise analytics. You will collaborate with data scientists to enable NLP/LLM use cases and ensure governance and security compliance across DoW IL5 standards.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required with technical coursework or experience in programming, databases, and quantitative analysis.
• Minimum of three years of professional data engineering experience; five years if no degree.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (or similar language) demonstrated in professional work.
• Experience building and operating data pipelines with ETL/ELT design, data modeling, quality checks, and version control (Git).
• Ability to communicate with analysts and non-technical stakeholders and document technical work.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on government tech stack (SQL Server, Databricks, Spark).
• Integrate disparate data sources into curated, analysis-ready datasets.
• Apply data quality controls, lineage, documentation, and performance tuning; monitor workloads and fix failures.
• Develop data models, dictionaries, metadata, and transformation logic under version control; document data sources and steps.
• Prepare and curate text and unstructured data for NLP and LLM use cases by the data science team.
