Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines, integrating diverse data sources across the POTFF enterprise.

You will support data science with curated datasets and governance in a DoD context. The role requires 3+ years of data engineering experience, strong SQL and Python skills, and collaboration with government teams to ensure secure, auditable data flows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, database development, or data pipeline development.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or a comparable data-engineering language.
• Experience building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, data quality checks, and version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on government-furnished tech stack.
• Integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into curated datasets.
• Enforce data quality, lineage, governance, and performance tuning for reliable pipelines.
• Develop data models, dictionaries, metadata, and transformation logic under version control.
• Prepare and curate text and unstructured data to support NLP/LLM use cases.
